School Programs

CHILD serves up to 52 full-time students at a time, placed in partnership with up to 31 referring school districts in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap counties and commute daily to our campus.  All of the students placed at CHILD have IEP's and receive Special Education services.

CHILD's program supports some of our most vulnerable students, who have experienced severe school failure (many times in multiple settings). Our objective is to support students to learn, develop, and apply new skills and information, which are critical for success in public-school settings. These new skills allow them to successfully reintegrate to a more traditional school setting—usually within 1 to 3 years. Students can enter our year-round program throughout the year depending on need and space availability.

We invite you to come for a tour of CHILD to see our students, staff, and program and learn more about CHILD's therapeutic day school program.

CHILD is an approved private school by the Washington State Board of Education, and since 1980, has been approved by the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to provide contracted therapeutic services to students from public school districts whose resources cannot adequately serve them.

CHILD admits students of any race, color, national/ethnic origin, religion, gender identity, and socioeconomic class to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational and admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and other school-administered programs.
