CHILD receives more support from Renton Community

Our Next Curve grant monies have been applied to the purchase of the i-Ready* Program. With i-Ready, CHILD will have better tools to:

  •  understand what each student “Can Do” and the “Next Steps” to inform instruction
  • make connections among multiple standards within and across grade levels
  • design monitoring assessments and lesson quizzes that will give students multiple opportunities to demonstrate skill mastery

On February 11th, CHILD’s Executive Director, Founder, and Development Director will attend the annual Celebrate: Love of Community event sponsored by the Renton Community Foundation to honor philanthropists in Renton and recognize the organizations who have been awarded grants through the various foundations and private grant mechanisms that the Renton Community Foundation coordinates.  Last year, right after we settled in our new how, CHILD received a grant from First Financial Northwest Foundation awarded through the Renton Community Foundation.  This year, CHILD will be receiving a grant from the Next Curve.  It is especially rewarding to be acknowledged by Next Curve, a fairly new organization (est. 2010) that is comprised of younger (and young at heart!) people seeking to make a difference in the Renton community. *i-Ready is a diagnostic and instructional teaching tool/program that assists teachers with not only the assessment of student’s lagging skills, but also with the design and delivery of instruction to improve learning outcomes.  With this tool, CHILD will also enhance our capacity to report student progress.  You may learn more about this program at www.curriculumassociates.com/products/iready/iready-adaptive-diagnostic-assessment.aspx
